Chapter II: Commerce Central

A slight nod was Cecil's initial response- he'd had his fair share of traveling... but he hadn't visited Commerce, or even heard of the place until now. He followed his partner's gaze as they strove forward. He figured it was lucky that Wade was so talkative. Cecil, himself, preferred to listen. He didn't look up from the ground until the conversation paused, and Wade began to stumble over his words. Cecil was at a loss, as far as what to do- anxiously clutching his mask with both hands and hugging it close. But when silence resumed, he reached out a hesitant hand and placed it on his friend's shoulder.

"It's okay." He stuttered, forcing himself to look his friend in the eyes with a smile. "I understand. Maybe things have changed." He finished, a bit quieter than before. He'd been through a similar situation himself... but. In his case-... Cecil looked away, staring straight ahead. Almost looking panicked, for a mere second. He didn't like to think about that. Then again, it wasn't like he could remember if he tried.

Volt wondered when they were going to get there. He was tired from walking. Slowing down a little bit, he found himself walking next to Wade and Cecil. He didn't really look at them though. He didn't really know what to say.
They probably didn't want to speak to him either. Mumbling "when are we going to get there" under his breath constantly, he crossed his arms around him and snuggled his muzzle once more into his fleece. He found something to occupy himself in kicking a rock slightly farther every time he walked in front of it. Was Commerce that far? Wow!

A few hours passed; who knew how much they walked. Upon arrival, the explorers seemed mystified by the amount of buildings in the area, but that was only the beginning.

"Welcome to Commerce Central!" Sunny exclaimed, looking at all the guild members, checking for any that had lagged behind. Cough. She ignored Edgar when he asked her a question about where they would stay for the night, as she was just about to address that for everyone. Obviously. "Now..... We will explore this town the day after today, which is tomorrow, as you should know. As we walk to the hotel, you can look and see all the merchants' wares. But remember to save your money for tomorrow! We have lots to do on the day after today."

After a "quick" walk (which lasted 15 minutes, but was deemed quick by Sunny), they finally made it to the inn. Inside was her dear friend, a plump Meganium who seemed eager to have Sunny around again. "It certainly is nice to see you again! It's definitely been a while. Now...." She pointed back to the others, and the Meganium nodded with a smile. She called on two of her coworkers- a Turtwig and a Sunflora- to lead the kids to their rooms. They were told to stay in their teams, but they could visit each other if needed.

Sunny sat down at a table in the lobby, Edgar following suit. He brought her an Occa berry, but her mind was too clouded to actually eat it. Though she thanked Edgar for it, she couldn't find words to fill the silence.

Cecil shouldn't have been tired in the slightest. He didn't exactly have to walk. And yet, still, he seemed to be thoroughly exhausted by the time they reached their destination. He'd been one of the last to look up, gazing idly around... listening as their Guildmaster explained the obvious.

After a brief exchange with the kind innkeeper, and a small smile at her cheerful disposition, he left (still at Wade's side) to his room. He studied the room closely for a moment- before seemingly designating a bed as his own, and gingerly laying his mask on the blanket.
