Chapter I: Shinba Forest

Cecil shuddered as Wade ran straight through him- disappearing further down the hall. The rest of the Pokemon around him were eager to follow, but Cecil still didn’t understand what all the rush was about. It had to be something at least somewhat important. Important enough for Wade to have tossed his scarf aside in his hurry to catch up, leaving it forgotten on the floor. ... “… Uh…” He mumbled again, under his breath. Surely he’d come across it again later… but, Cecil picked it up anyways. He took a moment to fold it neatly as he hovered further towards their destination- he’d return it to its rightful place when the time was right, but for now, he was a bit more interested in finding out what the rescue teams had ahead of them.

"Edgar said he was last seen entering Shinba, and it was reported from a fellow Beedrill. And besides--" She stopped walking, turning to face him-- "Shouldn't you go back and retrieve your scarf? It seems important to you." She commented. That was, until, the sheep bumped into her. "Watch where you're going--!!!" She yelled, after being pushed down.

"I, uh, don't really want to walk back there and get it... Y'see, one of my teammates--" Wade was interrupted by the sudden birth of an argument between Volt and Growlie yet again. Knowing he was powerless to stop either of them, he slowed down his pace and allowed himself to fall back behind the two, until he was a safe distance away. He hated the two's relationship. He knew it would get them into a lot of trouble in the future if they didn't clean up their act-- plus, every time a conflict broke out, Wade was left on his own again, as Growlie was his only friend in the guild so far. He walked alone in the chilly hall. He wished he had his scarf... and someone to talk to.

As always, punctual was not a word in Orchid's vocabulary. Then again; he was suddenly awakened by a blaring voice on the speaker. As he slowly shut his eyes again, he remembered today was a big day!

He heard footsteps flow by outside his bedroom door. As he did for what seemed like his whole life, Orchid followed the steps, into the lobby.

Cecil could only hear bits and pieces of the others’ conversation from where he followed- he still didn't quite understand what the commotion was all about. Something about a food court. And a- ... He glanced down to the folded accessory in his hands. A scarf. Well, no use in waiting. If there was a time to return it, it was most likely now. Soon enough they'd embark on their first mission, anyways- and if they were going to be on a team, they might as well get acquainted. Right?

Making an attempt to catch up (it didn’t take him long, as he didn’t exactly have to walk), he found himself behind the two. Not wanting to interrupt their conversation, he only reached out a hand- holding the scarf just into the Drilbur’s view. He just hoped the others wouldn't mind his company.

Growlie was less surprised about the ghosts appearence. She was a lot more concerned about Wade; The way he kept on shaking. "Are you alright?" She whispered, then looking up at Cecil with a concerned face. He was a suspicious one, and she was on the look out for him- Especially because of the way Wade acted when he was near.

Wade breathed in, and grabbed the scarf, quickly wrapping it around his neck. "...Yes, it's m-mine... Thank you for getting it back to me, Cecil, I, uh, appreciate... it..." Truthfully, Wade was very thankful that Cecil had taken the time to return it to him, but he was so incredibly nervous around him that he could hardly breathe steady. "Sorry for not taking it right away..."
